Fully Convinced

Day 9: Fully Convinced

Scripture:
“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.”  - James 1:6-8

Imposter Syndrome leaves you unconvinced of the provisions of God. Who has convinced you that you are unworthy of success and the promises of God? Do not allow the lies you’ve heard or even the ones you’ve said to yourself persuade your thinking. Be like Abraham, “He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised, He was also able to perform.” - Romans 4:20-21 Abraham allowed his faith to convince him; not people, not his unbelief, not his own strength and not his own Glory.

When you are unconvinced you have a hard time making decisions. It will always display itself in your responses to what God has told you to do. “But suppose they will not believe me or listen  to my voice, suppose they say; The Lord has not appeared to you.” (Exodus 4:1)  There will always be an excuse because you don’t even believe that what you’re called to do will be successful. You will be indecisive, wavering in your faith, going back and forth with the many ideas God placed inside you until you recognize that it is only God who can convince you that His power and His strength is enough.

Challenge: Write down every idea God has given you. Thank God and give Him glory for trusting you to carry out such a great task. Ask Him to strengthen your faith so you no longer doubt his power and ability to work through you.

I am glad you are enjoying the devotionals! Maybe start small and spend 10 minutes a day in silence dedicated to meditating on scripture and eventually build your time up. Or you can sacrifice time in the morning or at night. Just start somewhere ❤️
