Good Friday

They hung him high, they stretched him wide, he hung his head, for me he died; thats love!!
John 11:25-26

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who is coming into the world.”

As we reflect on the eve of the crucifixion; what things do you need to let die? Jesus made the ultimate sacrifice of giving his life and taking on our sin so we would have a chance for salvation. 

Living for God can be a challenge and we need to die daily. This involves self-reflection and removing things that can hinder our growth. It says in John 11 that if we live for God we will never die. We cannot focus on what we will lose but instead what we will gain. Not saying when we purge it wont hurt and may not even feel good. But imagine the pain Jesus felt on the cross. Surely we can endure what may seem to be a minor inconvenience instead of permanent demise; resulting in our soul being lost.

So will you believe in the power of God? Will allow your flesh to die, so your soul can thrive?
