Put Away All Distraction
Day 12: Put Away All Distraction

Scripture:
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6&7
"Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive me in Your way."
Psalms 119:37
Encouragement:
Distraction is probably one of the biggest weapons used against us and we know it, which majority of the time makes matters worse. Each and everyone of us fall into it until we continuously put it aside. But how does distraction and imposter syndrome even correlate together? I'm so glad you asked!
Imposter Syndrome comes out in many forms but I believe it uses distraction as a tool. For example let's say you were going for a promotion at work and you know this is a promotion that you are perfect for. You have been at the job for years and you are teaching your superiors how to do the job, you are a shoe in for the job. Now, it's time to apply for that job and you talk yourself out of it , or someone may have said something to you to rained on your parade, what was the distraction? The lie that you are not deserving of the job, or allowing what someone said to you affect you from not doing something you knew you were perfect for.
The biggest problem I see when it comes to distraction is that we allow it. Most of the time it comes right after we begin to doubt ourselves and we accept the distraction as a temporary escape from whatever it is that we really are supposed to be doing. God tells you to go pray for a person, you know it was God cause you don’t actually want to and because you don't want to you accept what happens next, someone comes to talk to you and ask if you want to go some place , you decide to go , instead of going to pray for the person like He instructed you to do. Yes some other stuff is wrapped up in there like disobedience but what is so subtle is the distraction we just allowed to take place. We typically miss it because we accepted it! Not realizing the distraction that came into play also just took you off course and out of the position of where God wanted you. Pay attention to the distraction because in a very subtle way it moves you out of position.
Challenge:
Write down everything that you feel like is distracting you. Now for the rest of the fast put these things aside in addition to whatever else you are abstaining from, so that you can place yourself in position to carry out all that God wants you to do.
Prayer:
Lord thank you for allowing me to be able to see all the distractions in my life. I need your assistance in getting rid of them so that they don't affect me being able to hear, see , and do what you want me to do. Thank you for helping me and thank you for helping me. I love you Lord.
