Pressing Onward

Day 20: Pressing Onward

Scripture:
Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:13-14

Encouragement:
Being stagnant or in a place of complacency, is one of the worst places you can be when God calls you to do something. Being stagnant or complacent sets you back further from what God has been telling you to do.

You may have been made to believe a complete lie from the enemy concerning you and what you need to do. Don’t let what happened from the past, keep you lingering in the past and not allowing you to move forward towards your assignment and your calling.

Ask yourself these questions:
Do I have bitterness or resentment towards someone or a situation?
Do I feel a sense of guilt because of something that I believe should have happened or shouldn’t have happened?
Am I pointing fingers at everyone else and not taking ownership of where I fell short?
Am I using what happened in my past as a crutch?

I encourage you to not dwell in the past, but allow God to use those experiences, that trauma, that situation for His glory. Move forward with intention for what God has called you to do (pressing toward the goal!). I encourage you to press onward because of your past! Press onward with a posture of faith and boldness in the good work that God is doing through you (Philippians 1:3-6).

I truly relate to this one. I know what I have to do.
