Overcoming Anxiety
Day 23: Overcoming Anxiety

Scriptures:
Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for today is its own troubles.
Matthew 6:34 (KJV)
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your request be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, But a good word makes it glad.
Proverbs 12:25 (KJV)
Encouragement:
Have you ever found yourself in a place where the cares of life have you so overwhelmed that you can't sleep or eat, feel like your world is falling apart, and don't know what to do? Do you feel like not getting out of bed? I know the feeling. I've been there, and I have found that just like fear, anxiety would keep us in a disgusting place where we can't find the strength to move forward.
But first, what is anxiety?
In the scriptures, anxiety is referred to as being anxious or worried about the future or burdened with care and concern.
Anxiety is a feeling of unease, worried, and fearful about the future. It is a normal and often healthy emotion. However, when a person regularly feels disproportionate levels of anxiety, it might become a medical disorder. Anxiety disorders are a group of mental health disorders characterized by significant feelings of anxiety and fear. These disorders can interfere with daily activities, and some people might avoid certain situations because of their anxiety.
Anxiety can be a difficult challenge for anyone to overcome, but the scriptures offer us powerful tools to overcome anxiety and find peace in moving forward.
Here are a few tips that may help:
One way to overcome anxiety is to trust in God and His plan. In the book of Matthew, Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own" (Matthew 6:34). This reminds us to focus on the present moment and trust that God will take care of us.
Another way to overcome anxiety is to pray: Share your anxiety with God and ask Him for peace and strength. The book of Philippians says, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). This encourages us to bring our worries and fears to God in prayer and to trust that He will provide us with the peace and strength we need.
Seek support from other Christians: It can be helpful to connect with other Christians who have struggled with anxiety. They can offer support and encouragement and share their own experiences.
Consider seeking professional help: If your anxiety is affecting your daily life and you're having trouble managing it on your own, it's essential to seek help from a mental health professional.
Finally, it is essential to focus on positive thoughts and actions. The book of Proverbs says, "Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up" (Proverbs 12:25). This reminds us to surround ourselves with positive influences and focus on uplifting thoughts and actions. By doing so, we can overcome anxiety and find peace in our daily lives.
With these powerful tools from the scriptures, we can overcome anxiety and live a peaceful, joyful, and hopeful life.
Remember, anxiety is a common struggle, and it's okay to ask for help. You can move forward with confidence and hope with the right tools and support.
